Read-only formats
Commons Compress reads, but cannot write, some formats. Compress4J supports these formats with an extractor or decompressor only; no creator or compressor class exists for them.
Convention
-
The class Javadoc starts with
Read-only: Compress4J provides no creator for this format. -
The format’s page opens with the note
Read-only: Compress4J can extract this format but cannot create it. -
Format lists mark the format with
(read-only). -
Extractors inherit the same extraction guards as every other archive extractor: path traversal, escaping symlink policy, and entry and size limits.
